worthy of calm
Do you believe you are worthy of calm?
Do you believe you are worthy and deserving of the calm + peaceful life you desire?
I’m learning to shed the need for immense intensity, chaos, unpredictability.
It’s a life I’ve known mostly — also stacked with being from an immigrant family, first gen born in USA, inner-city raised.
One of my greatest strengths — one of the major characteristics that got me to where I am today — is my resilience, my ability to fight for my worth, and my tenacity to keep going.
It’s been a trip to be on the other side of safety and security. No one tells you that there’s lapses, that your nervous system might not trust when things are calm and secure (due to past unpredictable patterns). No one really talks about how there may be a discomfort with calm.
I’m used to "success” and “goal achieving” to be very intense - high throttle, deep focus, tunnel visioned, prompt, quick, and easily attained when putting in the time and focused effort.
I’m grateful for my FIRE that has fueled my visions. that have helped me make my craziest dreams come true.
But - hitting 40s now, and settled into a very beautiful peaceful life - my body demands another way to do work.
Slow.
Strategic.
Intentional.
Deliberate.
Even in my artwork, I prefer fast, loose ideation. My daily paintings are quick ‘moments'. I’m used to working FAST with intention. But that’s lead to burn-out so many times. It needs to be another way.
Lean into the discomfort.
The calm is not scary.
You are safe. You are protected.
This is predictability you’ve created.
Because you’re worthy of good things.
You’re worthy of the peaceful life you desire.
You’re worthy of the quiet.
You’re worthy of the space and life you’ve made for yourself.
You’re worthy of sitting peacefully in the acceptance that your life can be and is the best it’s ever been.
There’s nothing wrong with that.
There’s nothing wrong with being with your person.
There’s nothing wrong with being with your soul dog.
There’s nothing wrong with sitting in the joy and appreciation of your own life.
