Power in Compounding

Acrylic ink painting of liquid splat explorations with yellows and reds, using a chinese paint brush

Taking learnings in financial wealth building - it’s about compounding. The key to building a strong, stable foundation. A little at a time goes a long way.

Part of my mental health and creative practice integration means I still need to meditate and paint freely several times a week to show my mind + body + soul that I’m here for it. That inner Estella can still create and BE as she desires, even with the flurry of exciting huge things in the winds.

My friends chuckle at the range of work I juggle: high visibility XR events to remote non-creative work to getting my $5 greeting card products off the ground. There’s something comforting for me to have the FULL RANGE: the big stuff reminds me I can dream BIG and the smaller things keep me humble and grounded. I need BOTH to keep me well-balanced. It requires a lot of mental elasticity 😂😂😂

A few months ago, I had to do meditations + freeform paintings DAILY to help me feel grounded and well. I’m learning that as I get into a more stable and stronger place with myself, self-care doesn’t require every dang day. It helps build the foundations and eventually I can have some more space in-between sessions - other activities when done with same peaceful intention can supplement, too.

I, of course, have a tendency of going, “Well, I did my homework so I’m all healed now right? No need to do it anymore.” 😂😂😂 I crash. And then I have to start the habit again hahaha

It’s about slowly and progressively waxing and waning~ Adjusting as needed. Getting to a place where “tune ups” are in-place are great for me.

Anyway, I’m proud today to take the moment to slow down, check-in, do some mindfulness creative time to “tune up” and allow myself space, before jumping right into the exciting BIG picture things.
